Please complete this form if you are interested in serving as a "Center Volunteer" (CV) at the Pride Center of Terre Haute community center during our open hours and for special projects/events. Responsibilities will include serving a 4-hour shift to greet community members, assist with activities, maintain the center, and help with any PCTH projects or special events.

This form will gather basic contact information and ask questions to allow the PCTH team to get to know you better! Potential CVs should complete this form, and we will contact you for an interview. We will contact you with approval to serve as a CV and will arrange dates for training and volunteer shifts.

If you are unable to serve during our open hours and can only volunteer for special events or projects, please indicate so in the questionnaire.

Volunteer Information

The mission of the Pride Center of Terre Haute is to serve the LGBTQIAP+ community in the Wabash Valley through the provision of support and research-informed advocacy. We provide a safe space and a resource hub for LGBTQIAP+ people, questioning individuals, and allies who live in the Wabash Valley.

The PCTH Center Volunteer will perform a variety of tasks depending on Pride Center of Terre Haute Needs. This will include greeting visitors, sharing resources, leading activities, answering phones, and other administrative tasks as assigned by PCTH Board Members. This role is integral to helping operate the PCTH, provide support to our community members, and assist with PCTH projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greeting visitors,
- Sharing resources,
- Answering phones,
- Data entry,
- Filing,
- Maintenance of community center space, and
- Other duties specifically around coordination of activities, or as assigned.

- Must be LGBTQIAP+ affirming and culturally responsive.
- Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Collaborate and cooperate with PCTH board members, volunteers, and community partners.
- Be courteous and personable when communicating with and serving community members.
- Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented while also able to follow directions.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of Pride Center of Terre Haute volunteers, partners, and donors.
- Computer skills are desired, but not necessary.

Training & Supervision
- Attends general volunteer orientation.
- Completes center orientation which includes training on opening/closing procedures, community resources, phone system, etc.
- Training and supervision conducted by PCTH Board Members.

- All volunteers complete a 60 day evaluation.

Time Commitment
- Approximately 1-2 times per month for a 4-hour shift.
- Varied hours for special projects and events.

- Serving alongside an amazing team of volunteers and board members.
- Experience with a community organization.
- Advocating for and serving the LGBTQIAP+ population.
- Helping make Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley a better place to live for the LGBTQIAP+ community.
